Human rights activists of the Luhansk regional human rights center "Alternative" Valery Novykov and Denys Denysenko have recently visited the medical facility in Marinka, which houses the health department, the clinic of family medicine and the primary health care center.
According to the respondents, a part of the city where the medical facility is located was heavily double-shelled in 2014–2015. As a consequence of the shelling the building, the glass has shattered.
In August 2015, as a result of fire set up in Donetsk in the early morning, the roof of the medical institution facility was penetrated, the windows were damaged, and the unexploded shell stuck in the foundation of the building that housed the baby clinic. It was by far the most severe damage. Restoration of the building took place in 2015–2016 with funds of the city budget.
In the summer of 2014, when there was fighting for the liberation of Marinka, the medical staff has stopped working for about a month. The roadblocks of armed groups of the so-called "DPR" were set up in the city. According to the respondents, the separatists came to the territory of the hospital, damaged signs with Ukrainian symbols with rifle, climbed the roof, being armed.
The clinics of the Marinsky district villages Stepne, Novomyhaylivka, Elizovetivka, and Karlivka were severely affected at that time. In the fall of 2016, there was a case about the sniper who shot through the window targeting the door of one of the medical cabinets in one clinic of Marinka, which is located in close proximity to the demarcation line. Official data on the perpetrators of the incident is unavailable. According to the witnesses, the sniper shot from the location of the armed forces of the so-called "DPR".
