A two-day military-patriotic camp of the "Zashchitnik Otechestva" was held on 18–19 June, 2016 in Zuyevsky landscape park in the Donetsk region. For two days, 30 teenagers at the age of 14–15 years from the four temporarily occupied cities (Khartsyzsk, Ilovaysk, Zuivka, Zugres) had been undergoing military training.

According to the source, the teenagers received medical, fire training. They also learned  weapons care and maintenance as well as hand-to-hand combat and rock-climbing.

"As a part of the camp, they called me for the education of young people, as a part of patriotism, to teach young people to stand up for their land...", said the hand-to-hand combat instructor Sergey Bashkatov. He also added that teenagers have mastered the technique of battle so well that "some of them already want to go to serve".

The camp was organized with the direct support of the military-patriotic center of "Zashchitnik Otechestva" and Khartsyzsk city administration. In addition, along with children there were mayors of Khartsyzsk, Ilovaysk, Zuevka and Zugres cities in the camp.
